Thanks to more than one and a half centuries of brewing experience, technological improvements, and excellent local and international brands that satisfy a wide variety of consumer expectations, Dreher Breweries is one of the dominant players in the Hungarian beer market.


Brands:
The variants of the market-leading premium brand of the company are the characteristic Dreher Classic and the dark beer speciality Dreher Bak.
Smooth-tasting pale beer, Arany Ászok is the second biggest brand of its type in the country.
Thanks to the type of unique technology used in the brewery, Dreher Alcohol Free and Arany Ászok Alcohol Free offer a real taste experience to the consumer.
K?bányai Sör represents quality in the economy segment, and it has been quenching great thirst for almost 60 years now.
A special brand in the portfolio of Dreher Breweries is the first golden beer, the original Pilsner Urquell which is popular all over the world.
The company also distributes Miller Genuine Draft which is made by using a special cold-filtering technology. Kozel, the Czech masterpiece is made by licence.
Hofbräu, a brand with hundreds of years of history, is also licence-brewed by Dreher Breweries locally, in compliance with the strict Bavarian Purity Law.


The products of Dreher Breweries are made using only high quality raw materials and crystal-clear spring water from protected wells, without using any artificial ingredients. The consistent taste of its brands is monitored by its analytical laboratory which is equipped to the highest standards in the industry, and by sensory evaluation carried out by well trained experts.

History of the company:
The brewery still operates in K?bánya, where the beers are brewing with the modernist technology methods in the buildings, which were restored to their original splendour.
1854 - Peter Schmidt founder of "K?bányai Serf?z? Társaság" produced the first "K?bányai Ser"
1862 - Anton Dreher, the "King of Beer" bought the "K?bányai Serház".
1870 - Anton Dreher Jr. takes over the leadership of the company. He developed the technology and capacity of his factories, and K?bánya soon became the largest brewery of Hungary.
1905 - Among his three sons, Anton Dreher Jr. entrusted Jen? with the management of the K?bánya brewery, which became a corporation in 1907 under the name "Dreher Antal K?bányai Serf?zdéje". The concern was market leader till World War I.
1923 - Jen? Dreher continued to buy shares from the capitals of his competitors, from Haggenmacher K?bányai and Budafoki Rt., Barber and Klusemann Brewery and the "Els? Magyar Részvény Serf?zde". The "Dreher Kombinát", which was merged from these companies in 1923, bought up the "Királyi Serf?zde" of Kanizsa in 1928 also.
1933 - "Dreher-Haggenmacher Els? Magyar Részvény Serf?zde" was launched, which ruled 70 % of the market with its excellent beers.
1948 - The property of the family kept in Hungary was taken into state ownership.
1949 - Establishment of "K?bányai Sörgyárak Nemzeti Vállalat".
1981 - Born of the independent "K?bányai Sörgyár".
1992 - "K?bányai Sörgyár" was converted into a shareholding company.
1993 - The brewery became a member of the South African Breweries (SAB).
1997 - The company takes up the name "Dreher Sörgyárak Rt".
2002 - The South African Breweries merged with the Miller Brewing Company to create the SABMiller group, which is the second largest brewing company of the world, with brewing interests or distribution agreements in over 60 countries across six continents. SABMiller plc is listed in the London stock exchange and the Johannesburg stock exchange, and its international brand portfolio includes excellent brands with a great past, such as Pilsner Urquell, Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Miller Genuine Draft, and Castle Lager.
